The highly anticipated Servathon was held from 20 to 26 August this year, with a heart-warming turnout of volunteers. Servathon is a flagship event of Stop Hunger, a programme founded by Sodexo employees in 1996 to fight hunger and malnutrition.

Each year, Sodexo's employees, partners and clients embrace Servathon as a platform to engage the community and to improve the Quality of Life of all.

For Servathon 2018, volunteers across multiple departments lent their support to Willing Hearts, a soup kitchen that prepares, cooks and distributes about 5,000 meals daily to over 40 locations island-wide. Beneficiaries include the elderly, disabled, low-income families, children from single-parent families and migrant workers. Across the week from Monday to Friday, Sodexo volunteers gave their all in Willing Hearts’ kitchen at Kembangan-Chai Chee Community Hub.

Servathon ended on a high note as some 200 of us put up an entertaining event for 100 seniors living in one to two-room flats at Circuit Road.

Mee May

“I had a great time interacting with the elderly during the event. We played games, danced, and ate together. I am glad to bring some joy to them. That’s my biggest takeaway from the event. I enjoyed being a volunteer and making a difference.” – Lee Mee May, Sodexo Volunteer

Food

These residents were treated to a wholesome lunch, nutritional tips from Sodexo’s dietitians and entertainment from the team.

The friendly and jovial seniors were also delighted with their goodie bags which contained nutritious food items.

To cap it all off, Sodexo and its partners raised funds to support The Food Bank Singapore and Willing Hearts' efforts to Stop Hunger. A portion of the sum was raised from a boisterous office auction held on 17 August, with thoughtful items contributed by members of Sodexo’s senior management.
