How do we achieve this? Our people start each workday by asking themselves, “Do I have the know-how, the right equipment and a safe environment for my work?” We are trained to have a safety mindset, reporting incidents and near misses the second they are spotted. Innovative technology, such as remote control glass cleaners that reach tall places, also helps us improve working conditions.

In China, virtual reality kitchen safety training guides our employees on completing operations in different scenarios to minimise the risk of injuries in real life. VR safety training substantially saves time, prevents food waste in face-to-face trainings and overcomes limitations in space and manpower.

Our certifications

Sodexo’s global health and safety management system is based on OHSAS 18001, an internationally recognised standard. But we go above and beyond by clinching other esteemed certifications such as the ISO 55001 – we were the first facilities services provider to offer a global asset management service in compliance with this standard at the International School of Beijing.
