Sodexo, world leader in Quality of Life services has been recognised as a Champion of Good for the second consecutive year by the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre (NVPC). The award recognises companies in Singapore that are exemplary in giving and sustaining a compassionate society.

In line with Sodexo’s Corporate Responsibility (CR) roadmap Better Tomorrow 2025, the companyactively engages all stakeholders including employees, clients and consumers to improve the Quality of Life for all.

Sodexo proactively tackles the issue of hunger and malnutrition through Stop Hunger, a programme set up by employees and now a non-profit organisation. In Singapore, the company has donated 2500 healthy meals in 2018 to the underprivileged and provided nutritional advice through the flagship event Servathon.

In 2018’s edition of Servathon, more than 500 volunteers from Sodexo lent their support to the cause. Across the week, volunteers helped out at Willing Hearts, a soup kitchen that prepares, cooks and distributes 5,000 meals daily to over 40 locations island-wide for the disadvantaged. Volunteers also put up an entertaining event for 100 seniors living in one- to two-room flats at Circuit Road, serving up a wholesome lunch and playing interactive games to present nutritional tips.

Across the year, Sodexo also organises other outreach programmes to benefit various non-profits including Food Bank Singapore, and others.

Johnpaul Dimech, Region Chair, Sodexo Asia Pacific:
“We are honoured to be recognised as Champions of Good by NVPC once again. This shows our commitment to create a Better Tomorrow for everyone, not just for the customers we serve, but for the world at large. We have put in place ambitious but strategic goals in our Corporate Responsibility roadmap, and are working towards making them a reality with the efforts of the entire Sodexo team and community partners.”
