How can you stand out as a global leader in Quality of Life services at a show dedicated to digital innovation? Sodexo’s response to this question, during its first time participating in VivaTech last June, resulted in the Group winning an award at the 2017 Grands Prix awards ceremony held by Communication & Entreprise.

“Digital transformation has major implications for Sodexo,” explained Belen Moscoso del Prado, senior vice president for group digital at Sodexo. “Identifying new partners, new ways of working and new digital solutions for our clients is crucial for Sodexo. The revolution is underway!” 

Supported by the event agency Lever de Rideau, the Group opted for a breakthrough approach that took visitors on a real journey of wellbeing. Greeted by feel-good coaches, visitors learned about Sodexo’s business activities while sitting on swings, in a dreamlike world crafted from wood, with white veils suspended from the air. A 3D video projected onto a circular table highlighted the expertise of Sodexo’s teams, while the main event was the serving of a menu created by the Group’s chefs. The virtual world became a reality, much to the delight of the visitors.

Surrounding this Zen space was an oxygen bar, a juice stand offering vitamin-rich fruit juice served by digitally controlled articulated arms, and the opportunity to test the safety training module that was created entirely in virtual reality for company employees. In addition, more than 30 startup partners were there to give presentations and provide a fresh perspective on Quality of Life services.

Over the course of three days, more than 2,000 visitors tried the swings in the ‘wellbeing bubble’, over 7,500 people flocked to the stand and more than 75 pitches were given by startup partners to members of the public. Such a success did not go unnoticed by the members of the judging panel for the Communication & Entreprise Grands Prix awards, and they were won over by the innovativeness of the approach.

It was a successful experience that allowed Sodexo to assert its driving role in the digital shift within Quality of Life services. Sodexo already has its place reserved for VivaTech 2018!
